The spaces we inhabit shape the lives we live within them.
The spaces we inhabit directly influence how we move through our mornings, how clearly we think, how deeply we rest, how we gather, how we work, and how connected we feel to the people and routines that matter most.
When a space is thoughtfully designed, it does more than impress friends and neighbors, it restores us. It reconnects us to each other, and what we care about most. It ultimately supports the life unfolding within it.
That understanding is the foundation of everything we create at Tranquil Interiors.
Our Philosophy
Science-informed interior design for wellbeing.
We know interior design is never just about how it looks.
A beautiful room that works against the people living within it will never feel complete. That is why our work begins somewhere deeper than style. We look closely at how your environment is functioning now, where it may be creating friction, and what it truly needs to support the way you long to live, work, rest, and connect.
Science-informed, yet deeply human.
Our work is guided by science-informed design principles, including neuroaesthetics and biophilic design, which explore how the environment affects the human nervous system, emotional wellbeing, focus, restoration, and connection.
But our process is never clinical.
We translate these principles into luxurious, custom environments that feel intuitive, personal, and deeply livable. Spaces that support wellbeing without sacrificing beauty. Spaces that honor both the people within them and the life they are building with those they cherish.
More than beautiful.
We stand against design that looks good but fails the people living within it.
Against borrowed aesthetics, one-size-fits-all solutions, and spaces that ask people to shape their lives around a room rather than creating rooms that support real life.
We are not interested in decoration for decoration’s sake. We are interested in creating restorative spaces where people can flourish.
What this means for our clients…
Most of our clients don’t come to us asking for science-informed design. They come to us knowing that it no longer reflects who they are, how they live, or what this season of life is asking of them.
Our role is to uncover what is not always easy to articulate at first, then design with that truth at the center.
The result is more than a beautiful space: it’s an environment that restores, reconnects, and supports the way you truly long to live.
“Deanna made all the difference when we decided to remodel our 30 year old kitchen.
I was overwhelmed with choices and she listened to what I wanted and helped me find choices that would look good yet would give us a modern look.
We now we have a beautiful kitchen that fits into our home and lifestyle.”

Tranquil Interiors began with a simple but powerful observation: the spaces we inhabit shape the lives we live within them.
And it was that very clear realization that has shaped founder Deanna Girardot’s work for nearly three decades.
Long before she had the language of neuroaesthetics and biophilic design, she was paying attention to something deeper than aesthetics alone: the way a space is designed can either support the people within it, or slowly work against them.
Deanna’s Signature Seminar:
The Power of Sanctuary™
The Power of Sanctuary™ is a thoughtful, science-informed seminar about the way our environments shape how we feel, function, rest, and connect. Drawing from neuroaesthetics and biophilic design, Deanna Girardot, SIDC shows how light, texture, layout, rhythm, and sensory cues influence the nervous system long before we consciously register them, and why that matters in homes, workplaces, and wellness-oriented spaces.
At the heart of the talk is a simple but powerful idea: beautiful spaces are not enough. The spaces we inhabit should help us live and feel better.
Through real-world examples and an accessible, human-centered lens, Deanna translates emerging research into practical insight people can actually use, helping audiences understand how design can reduce friction, foster belonging, improve rest, and create environments that feel more restorative and aligned with daily life.
Attendees will leave with:
A clearer understanding of how environment affects wellbeing, focus, rest, and connection.
Practical ways to think about sanctuary, flow, belonging, and restorative design in everyday spaces.
Fresh insight into neuroaesthetics and biophilic design without jargon or overwhelm.
A new perspective on how intentional design can support real life, not just visual appeal
Ideal for:
Homeowners and design-curious audiences
Wellness, health, and lifestyle organizations
